Lloydsville Sportsmen Association was organized in 1949 by founding members Steve Stanko Sr., Harry Skelly, Steve Stanko Jr., Franlin A. Stanko, E.A. Droske, Robert J. Smith, Stephen Suranic, Lucian Bucci.

The organization is comprised of nearly 700 members, including both active and honorary members.

Some of the activities that the Lloydsville Sportsmen Association is involved in include:

• Yearly float stocking of trout in the Loyalhanna Creek for the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
• Presenting a yearly Hunter-Trapper Education course.
• Membership in the Westmoreland County Sportsman’s League.
• Holding a yearly youth fishing derby at the club farm.
• Holding a yearly youth pheasant hunt at the club farm.
• Holding a yearly club picnic for all members at the club farm.
• Holding a yearly Christmas banquet for members.
• Making monetary donations to various charities in the Latrobe and Unity Township areas.
